Hello,
my name is Karla Madrazo Villarreal, and I am the founding attorney of our bilingual law firm here in Chula Vista, California. With more than 20 years of legal experience and licenses to practice law in both the United States and Mexico, I am passionate about helping families, immigrants, and businesses find clarity, protection, and peace of mind in the legal moments that matter most.
Having lived my own life between two countries, two languages, and two cultures, I understand firsthand how overwhelming legal processes can feel — especially when your family's future is on the line. My mission is to make sure every client who walks through our doors feels heard, respected, and truly represented, in their own language and with their story honored.
My Story
Bilingual & Binational Legal Advocate | Servant of Justice on Both Sides of the Border
My name is Karla Madrazo Villarreal, and the practice of law is not just my profession — it is my purpose.
I was born on June 15, 1976, in Puebla, Puebla, Mexico, and from a very young age I understood something that would later define my entire career: that justice is not a privilege reserved for a few, but a right that belongs to every human being. Witnessing injustices in my community, and seeing how the law could either uplift families or leave them behind, planted a seed in me that would grow into a lifelong calling. I became an attorney because I refused to stand by while others fought their hardest battles alone.
A Life Built Between Two Countries, Two Legal Systems, and One Mission
My story has always been a story of two worlds. Raised between Mexico and the United States, I learned early on that culture, language, and identity are not borders — they are bridges. That bicultural experience shaped not only who I am as a person, but the kind of attorney I became: one who understands her clients not just legally, but humanly. When a family walks into my office, I don't just hear their case — I hear their accent, their hopes, their fears, and the journey that brought them here.
That is why I have dedicated my career to building a bilingual, binational legal practice where Spanish-speaking families, immigrants, business owners, and dreamers can finally feel truly seen, truly heard, and truly represented.
Two Decades of Education, Excellence, and Earned Trust
My legal foundation was built at the prestigious Escuela Libre de Derecho de Puebla A.C., where I earned my law degree in 1999 and later returned to complete my Doctorate in Laws and Policy. Determined to expand my ability to serve clients on both sides of the border, I went on to earn a Master of Laws (LLM) in U.S. Law from California Western School of Law in 2020, and proudly completed a Certificate in Financial Analysis and Valuation from Harvard Law School — because the families and businesses I represent deserve an attorney who never stops learning.
Today, I have the privilege of being licensed and trusted in multiple jurisdictions:
-
Licensed Attorney in the State of California
-
Licensed Attorney in Mexico
-
Corredor Público #25 of Baja California, Mexico — one of the most prestigious legal designations in the country
-
California Notary Public
This unique combination allows me to serve clients in ways very few attorneys in California can — handling complex matters that span U.S. and Mexican law with confidence, authority, and cultural understanding.
A Career of Leadership and Service
Throughout my career, I have served as Chief Legal Officer for international corporations, advising on cross-border business operations, corporate governance, and high-stakes legal strategy. I have also had the honor of shaping the next generation of lawyers through teaching positions in corporate law at esteemed universities in Mexico, where I share not only legal doctrine, but the values of integrity, dedication, and service that define our profession.
My commitment to the legal community is reflected in my active membership with:
-
State Bar of California
-
San Diego County Bar Association
-
American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)
-
California Lawyers Association
-
Barra Mexicana, Colegio de Abogados A.C.
-
Colegio de Corredores Públicos de Baja California A.C.
Why I Do What I Do
People sometimes ask me what I love most about being an attorney, and my answer is always the same: everything. I was born to do this. I cannot imagine a life where I am not advocating for someone, fighting for a family, defending a future, or helping a person stand a little taller in front of a system that once felt impossible to navigate.
But my passion for service does not end when I leave the office. Outside of my legal practice, I dedicate my time to helping people struggling with addictions — walking alongside them, reminding them of their worth, and showing them that recovery, like justice, is always possible when you have someone in your corner.
At home, my greatest companion is Nola, my beloved three-year-old Czech-German Shepherd, who reminds me every single day that loyalty, presence, and unconditional love are the foundation of every meaningful relationship — including the one I build with each of my clients.
A Promise to Every Client
My background is a blend of professional excellence, academic rigor, personal resilience, and an unbreakable commitment to justice. But beyond the diplomas and the titles, what I truly offer my clients is something far more important: a real attorney who listens, who cares, who fights, and who shows up.
If you are looking for legal guidance, you are not just looking for a lawyer. You are looking for someone who will stand with you. That is exactly who I am — and that is exactly what I promise to be for every family, every business, and every person who trusts me with their story.
